Healing takes time and asking for help is a courageous step. In such unprecedented times, that there is a lot of pressure to rush and to put our problems in the past. I strongly believe that therapy is an opportunity for self-discovery, learning, finding your truth, and fully accepting yourself. There is no timeline on wellness, so it’s okay to slow down, take a breath, and fully embrace your journey. In therapy, we are not changing or getting rid of the past, rather processing those experiences and no longer letting it control our every day lives.
Since you may be sharing your story with me, I think it’s important that you get to know me a little bit. I was born and raised in Northern BC and I am of Swiss and Tahltan descent. I am a fur parent to 3 Italian Greyhounds and a Rescue. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, scoping out Netflix, and furthering my education.
I have a Diploma in Indigenous Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) as well as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I am also an EMDR Certified Therapist who is an active member of EMDR Canada and EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
** Please note, I am an approved FNHA Mental Health Provider and offer sliding scales to try and remove barriers to accessing services. **
I enjoy working with children, youth, and adults and feel inspired by seeing people make positive and meaningful changes in their lives.
My approach to treatment is person-centred, flexible, and trauma-informed. I enjoy working alongside my clients and view the therapeutic experience as collaborative. I work as a facilitator and can help you plan out your journey. But I also trust that during this process your body, mind, and spirit will lead you to the spots where you need to heal.
If you are ready to take charge of your wellness, please get in touch. I offer 15 minute complimentary meet and greets, so you can make sure we are a great fit! I look forward to offering you a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space to express yourself.
